"Queer Eye" Star Jonathan Van Ness Launches JVN Hair
Known best for his amazing hair transformations on the hit Netflix show “Queer Eye,” author, podcaster, and TV personality Jonathan Van Ness has just launched a line of performance haircare products.
“I’m so full of gratitude to be able to finally share a lifetime passion project, JVN, and to be teaming up with Amyris on the creation of these amazing products,” Van Ness says.
With the slogan “Come as you are” and the mission to help everyone achieve their most gorgeous self, JVN was designed for people with all types of hair and is committed to promoting inclusivity, sustainability, accessibility, and efficacy through their vegan, color-safe, and silicone-free products.
“I am exceptionally proud to say that JVN is truly for everyone—it is effective for all hair types, while still being sustainable for our gorgeous Earth,” Van Ness says.
JVN features four collections: Embody, Nurture, Undamage, and Complete; all targeting different hair types.
The Embody collection offers a shampoo and conditioner that helps thicken and add volume to fine hair. The Nurture collection targets dry hair that is in need of hydration and features a shampoo, conditioner, and moisture mask. The Undamage collection was created to help hair that has been through it all, and features a shampoo and conditioner. The Complete collection includes an instant recovery serum, a pre-wash scalp oil, and air dry cream for ready-to-style hair.
All of these collections were built around one ingredient, hemisqualane, a sugarcane-derived alternative to harmful silicones that helps protect from damage and breakage while also smoothing frizz and strengthening the hair.
Van Ness hopes to serve all beauty and honor each person’s uniqueness and individuality, and now you can start on your own hair care journey! JVN is now available to purchase on jvnhair.com and Sephora, and in Sephora stores on September 17. The prices range from $18-$28. Follow @jvnhair on Instagram.
