Week 29 of Weekly Wellness: Easy Aromatherapy
I’m a big believer in the power of scent. It can elevate your mood, transport you to a past memory in an instant, and promote rest, relaxation, and well-being. For this week’s #WeeklyWellness2021, I tried out CHI’s Egyptian Aromatherapy Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffuser along with a couple of pure essential oils from the line to add some extra calm into my home and life.
Week 28 of Weekly Wellness: Hair Repair With Virtue
Aromatherapy has well-being roots stemming from ancient civilizations of Egypt as essential oils were used as an alternative treatment for various maladies, making it a centuries old tradition. No doubt inspired by its rich history, haircare giant Farouk Systems, Inc. partnered with Hashem Brothers for essential oils and aromatic products to create CHI Egyptian Aromatherapy.
Egyptian Aromatherapy Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffuser has a multitude of functions, an aromatherapy diffuser, humidifier and serene LED light source enclosed between wood grain, giving seven light options to choose from. Set up and instructions are easy and straightforward, only requiring water and a few drops of oil to be added to the tank before getting started.
Upon plugging in and getting set-up, an ultra-sonic cool mist quickly releases into the air, both eliminating order and proving a zen-like ambiance. The Egyptian Aromatherapy line features 11 natural 100% essential oils extracted from plants. This week I tried two of my favorite scents: eucalyptus and lavender.
Spa Vibes with Eucalyptus
A few times a week, I set up Egyptian Aromatherapy in my bathroom with eucalyptus as the backdrop to my nightly routine. As a beauty writer, I wager that I spend more time then most getting ready for bed, de-stressing as I test the latest products and tools the industry has to offer. Known for stress-relief, the scent rejuvenates the spirit, helping to alleviate exhaustion and mental sluggishness. In addition to the diffuser, I also drizzled a few drops into my shower, allowing the scent and steam to wash away any troubles from my day and clear my sinuses.
Lavender and Lullabys
With two small children in tow, I put the calming properties of lavender to work to set the mood prior to bedtime. My 3-year old loved choosing from the diffuser’s seven color options, usually landing on blue-violet for a cool ambiance. The operating time spans up to 10 hours, allowing a continuous whisper quiet mist on a single fill of the tank. A staple for headache relief, a soothing option for burns and scrapes, and a relaxing mood-booster, lavender’s cool mist helped slow the pace, inviting a feeling of calm. Self-care for all!
